Karen Crystal
Karen received her bachelor's degree in French from the University of Illinois at Chicago. She is also endorsed in Spanish and is currently pursuing her Master's degree in Latin American Literature and Culture from Northeastern Illinois University. Her academic career has been rich and diverse having served as chair of the world language department at Austin Community Academy. While there she coauthored and implemented the curriculum for the International Baccalaureate Program in French and Spanish.
Karen has traveled throughout Europe, including studying at the Sorbonne University in Paris, France, with a focus on French and music theory.
Her interests include attending the Lyric Opera, The Chicago Symphony Orchestra and enjoying time with her family.
Karen brings a passion for being a life long learner to her students by incorporating music, film and the arts into her language program.
